Extra Extra!

Okay, so check this out. I bought a new Bible at the end of this past year and I love it. Well now there is a chance to get one for free!

That's right, on this guy's blog you can read about to get your very own calfskin ESV Study Bible. It's a great deal and a great bible. Check it out!

Sorry for the delay...

Okay, so I really do plan on posting some of the excerpts I was referring to. One of the reasons it is taking so long is because I am taking this time of mass typing to try and learn the Dvorak Implified Keyboard layout. While the standard keyboard setup used in America and throughout much of the world is the QWERTY layout (look at the keyboard in front of you), it is not the most efficient or healthy key placement for your fingers. It was found that by rearranging the keys on a keyboard, one can actually have a better keyboard layout for speed and ease of use. They say that if you were to type enough that our fingers traveled, say, 10 miles over the surface of your QWERTY keyobard, the same amount of typing would only necessitate a distance of 5 miles with the Dvorak keyboard. Why am I doing this? Mostly because I'm a nerd and I think it's fun. So yeah...it is like learning a new language. I have to reteach the muscles in my fingers to type under a new system. Soon I will be thoroughly confused in my attempts to interact with keyboards....

Anyway, here is a picture of the new keyboard layout I am using and a promise that I will get to this blog...eventually. I have been working on recording some of the stuff I will be posting. Later!

Purpose

So I have found a purpose for my blog. There is one main problem...I'm not sure if it is entire legal. I want to post portions of a series of published books that I am reading. I'm not sure if it is legal for me to copy these and in a sense, re-publish them. But I intend to give credit to the author, so I don't feel bad about it.

I am going to be posting portions of the written works of R.A. Salvatore, from his Legend of Drizzt series of books. Each of the books is broken up into 3-5 parts and each of these parts features a monologue by the primary character of the series Drizzt Do'Urden. While understanding his thoughts is impossible without understanding the context to each of them, there are some nuggets of worldly wisdom that I would love to have at my fingertips. Musings about life and love, the excerpts probably won't make much sense to most people, but I am doing this for me. I have started typing out the words from the book I borrowed from the library, but I want to start posting from the oldest book up to the most recent, so I won't be posting again for a week or so when I am back at school and I have all of the books at my fingertips once more.

First Time

So this is my first time trying a blog. For the most part I have created it for the use of keeping track of others' blogs. So for now I am going to go friend hunting. I might blog something for real myself one of these days.
